Who are We?
Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School has been teaching children and adults water safety and swimming strokes on the Sunshine Coast for almost 10 years!! Whilst our name may be new and our ownership has changed, our Learn-to-Swim program, teaching team and water safety focus have remained the same!
Our founder of Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School, Kymberlee, not only is an AUSTSWIM certified Instructor and Assessor, she is also an experienced RLSS Lifeguard, Graduate Paramedic and ASCTA Bronze Coach. Kym's passion for ensuring the community has access to, and is educated in, swimming and water safety stems from her experience of resuscitating a young child after a near-drowning incident when she was 19. Fortunately she and her team had a positive result and the child has since made a full recovery. Within 6months of this incident, Kym challenged herself, if she could teach a dozen kids to swim, she could make a difference.
Now Kym is dedicated to ensuring no parent, caregiver or child has to go through the same experience, risking a not-so-positive result, and has brought on-board her team of experienced, AUSTSWIM Certified instructors to reach and teach as many individuals as possible. Our goal as a team and swim school is to provide high quality water safety education to our wider community, and to provide students with opportunities to continue to experiment, participate and pursue aquatic sports and activities post Learn-to-Swim graduation.
Our Centre is AUSTSWIM and Swim Australia recognised, and we are an active member of the Australian Swim Schools Association. Our programs are AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia and Royal Lifesaving affiliated. Not only do we teach Learn-to-Swim, but our program has a strong water safety focus. This includes a regular Water Safety Week every term dedicated solely to water safety and survival skills, practicing and applying them to simulated real-life scenarios.
All of our instructors at Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School are AUSTSWIM and/or Swim Australia certified, with extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and teaching aquatics. Kym also ensures all her team members hold current Working with Children Blue Cards, CPR and First Aid Certificates in conjunction with the Instructor certifications. Some of our instructors are also studying education, sports science and/or paramedics at university, or come from backgrounds of Teacher Aids, Early Childhood Learning and Development and/or Childhood Psychology.
