One of the most common things we hear from parents when they enquire about our swim programs is:

“My baby LOVES the water… but only in the bath!”
If this sounds like your little one, you’re not alone. In fact, many babies absolutely adore bath time – the warm water, the splashing, the giggles. It’s a beautiful, familiar routine. But when it comes to larger or unfamiliar bodies of water, like a swimming pool, many parents are unsure how their child will respond… and that’s exactly where we come in.
From Bath Time to Pool Time: What’s the Difference?
While baths provide wonderful early exposure to water, they’re also limited. There’s minimal movement, shallow depth, and usually only one-on-one attention with a parent. That comfort zone is a great start, but real water safety and swim skill development happens in more dynamic environments—like our magnesium pool.
At Bubble ‘n’ Kick, we’ve designed our FREE Water Babies Introduction Program specifically to bridge that gap in the gentlest, most nurturing way possible.
How We Make the Transition Easy (and Fun!)
1. Familiar Warmth
Our magnesium pool is kept at a consistent, warm temperature to mirror the comfort of bath water. That means no cold shocks, no tears – just a smooth, calm entry to a new experience.
2. Gentle, Supported Entry
We never push babies to do anything they’re not ready for. Our classes are guided by your baby’s comfort level, and always led with parent-child bonding at the centre.
3. Play-Based Progression
We use songs, toys, and gentle play to build water confidence. For bath lovers, this makes pool time feel like an extension of something they already enjoy.
4. Magnesium for Sensitive Skin
Worried about chlorine? Our magnesium pool is kind to sensitive skin and eyes, making it ideal for delicate little ones used to soft bath water.
Why It Matters
That playful kicking and splashing your baby does in the bath? It’s more than just fun—it’s the beginning of real motor development. In our program, those movements become more intentional, helping to build gross motor skills, cognitive development, spatial awareness, and eventually, foundational swim safety.
Ready to Make the Leap?
If your baby loves the bath, they’re already on the perfect path to enjoying the water. The next step is introducing them to an environment where they can explore, learn and grow their confidence.
Our Water Babies Introduction Program is FREE and designed for babies aged 3–6 months. It’s a gentle start to a lifelong love of swimming and water safety.
